Why an oral strip rather than a capsule or an injection?

Swallowed compounds face stomach acid, digestive enzymes, and first-pass metabolism, and the strip format is designed around dissolving in the mouth instead. Compared with injectables, there is no reconstitution, no needles, and no sharps disposal. The formats have not been shown to be equivalent, so each should be evaluated on its own evidence.

How is a strip administered?

One strip is placed on the middle of the tongue and allowed to adhere to the roof of the mouth, where it dissolves in about 30 seconds.

What is the amount per strip?
